New Exec: New Plans
On June 20th the AHS elected its new Executive students at its AGM, held at Warwick University, and laid out a plan of action for the coming year. The AHS would like to announce the following.Coming soon:
- A Nationwide Recruitment Drive. Our team of student Regional Representatives are going to train new and existing societies around the UK this summer to help them flourish on campus this autumn.
- Brand new website. The AHS will be launching a brand new public site later this year. Complete with forums, news, students areas, banks of resources for societies, and a wikipedia section.
- A National Convention. The AHS will hold a national convention of atheism, humanism and secularism for students early next year. This should be the UK’s largest ever gathering of young people free from faith in many years.
- International Work. The AHS is currently working with another European country and the USA on a new project. More details as they come.
Our new Exec Team: Jenna Catley, President. Adrian Hayter, Secretary. Stuart Pilbrow, Treasurer.
After much discussion the AHS has decided to postpone this initiative until we have become more established and can provide an excellent service for 6th forms. Until then, 6th form groups are welcome to become Associate Members and use our resources.
