Ellen Maggie Woods - Regional Development Officer
Ellen studies maths at the University of Sheffield but spends most of her time avoiding it. Being raised fairly Christian, she first got involved with 'active' atheism with the Edinburgh Humanists. Student life didn't really work out there so she came back to her home of Yorkshire, originally being from Harrogate. She was treasurer when the Sheffield Atheist Society was 'resurrected' in Dec 2010 and during her time as President the society almost tripled in size. Ellen is concerned with the grasp religion has on schools and especially hates people being called "racist" if they dare criticise Islam or the Qu'ran! In her non-atheisty, non-maths spare time she loves most things from sewing to dubstep.
